another perfect seal ??

I am changing manifolds & risers and according to the bottle it sayd to use it on everything(except manifold gasket of course) My question is for all the manifold & riser plugs should I use perfect seal or plumbers pipe sealant? What about the bolts, studs, etc? The bottle says use this but I was thinking of never seize on the studs, a little blue loctite on riser bolts and pipe dope on plugs. What should I use? Perfect Seal for everything or all the other stuff that I already have? I just want to avoid problems. I was also thinking of using sealant & teflon tape on the plugs for double leak protection.

You can use the perfect seal on all that stuff, just don't mix it with other sealants or tape.

If you mix other sealants with it or appy it ith tape, there could be a chemical reaction that would make them break down and not seal at all.

Ok, If I use pipe sealant then I know that I can use pipe dope and teflon tape. I have a friend who is a plumber and thats what he does. (He uses both sometimes)

There's absolutely No Reason to use 2 products that do the Same Job.......
You'll be more likely to end up with Failure than Double protection.....

More is Not always Better,......
A Tylenol or 2 will make you Feel Better,......
A Bottle of them will Kill you........

Where's your Plumber Buddy work,..??..??

I want to be Sure he doesn't end up on a Job around here.........

And stay away from teflon tape on your boat.
Impropper use of it has caused more leaks, cracked housings, plugged up fuel systems than anything I have ever found.

And, NeverSieze works good on cars and machinery. However in the boating world, we call it EverSieze.

Ok, no teflon tape. The bottle of perfect seal basically says use it on everything. Does it work well on the everything? (manifold studs,plugs,bolts etc?) Or for the plugs should I use pipe sealant?

Have used Perfect Seal for many years on manifold fittings, studs, bolts etc. Including SS bolts going into alum housings. Keeps the corrosion away.

Ok thanks Don so you're saying that I don't need all those other sealers etc. Use perfect seal on everything? Do you also use perfect seal on riser bolts or locktite instead?

I've never had, seen, or heard of a riser bolt comeing loose, so no need for Loctite on those. Like I said, it's more to prevent corrosion from locking them in.
There is also a time and a place for all sealers, and a quick answer here will not help. Assume nothing, Look at the OEM manual. It tells what sealer to use where, and when, there are some places you don't want any sealer at all.

Nope, no sealer on any Merc exhaust gaskets.
