With apologies to the master mechanics on iBoats, I have another problem. I took it apart and followed instructions (at least I thought I did)
I made sure the shift fork and shoe were aligned. The throttle was wide open. I turned the SS clockwise and the prop counter clockwise. Put it all together and it shifted into forward and reverse just as it should. I put the muffs on and started it up, but now I can't throttle up with it in neutral. I push the button in and it won't throttle forward or back.
Any idea what bone-headed thing I did this time?

sheeze. I'm about tired of tearing that thing apart and putting it back together. I'm getting close to throwing in the towel on it.

Thanks friends,
jerry

Sounds like a control problem rather than a outdrive problem. Could be that the throttle only button shaft needs some lubrication.

Temporarly disconnect the shift cable at the inboard transom to isolate your problem to the controller.
