2 weeks ago, I put my boat in the lake, an old 66 inline 6, everytime I'd put it in gear, it would die, carbs flooded. I rebuild the carbs all three of them, I've rebuilt the fuel pumps, I put the boat in the water this week, same thing, except seems like it was leaking more. What is going on?

RU talking about a 1966 Merc inline 6, a tower of power? We need basic info like that to get started. If the carbs are rebuilt and the fuel pumps are rebuilt and it leaks gas? I would revisit the carbs to make sure the float valves are functioning. Then I'd do a link-n-synch, check the FAQ thread/forum. A compression test might also be in order if you haven't done one in a while. Was it running okay before you did the carbs/fuel pumps?

Re: Another sad day at the lake

That's the one I'm talking about, I picked up the motor about 3 months ago, had not ran for over 2 years, I've replaced the distributor cap, the solenoid, rewired the whole motor, impeller, seals, the compression is 125-130 on all 6 cyl, it starts without a problem, first time at the lake 2 weeks ago, it started no problem, but it would die when in gear also leak gas, took it back home, rebuild all three carbs (new floats also), rebuilt both fuel pumps, put it back together, tested and sync (I hope I did it right) ran no problem on muffs, Took it to the lake and I soon as it go in gear it would bog down and die. I've tried adjusting the needles, nothing..but the carbs still leak.

Try finding which carb is leaking. repair and link and sink.
