so the helm on my 89 larsorson went out and i trouble shot the proplem down to the helm my question is i have a telefelx safe-t system but it is the old style were the cable threads on to the helm is my old helm was SH5023 is there a way to use the same cable but use on of the new style helm the SH5094 the price is better and i read alot of good things on the new system

You'll be better of to swap the helm unit to NFB ( SH5150P)

You have two wearing parts working together and one breaks? What do you think about the part that didn't break? how much extra wear and tear on it was caused by the defective part?

And with the Pricing structure,... It's danm near as Cheap to replace the Whole Thing,..
As it is to replace Only part of the system....

you have a 20 year old system, time for complete upgrade to rotary, no feed back system. not that much more for a complete new system. your throttle cables are due also. if they have not been replaced.

so i pulled the cable today and you all are right need that cable replaced this is why i love i boats i can tell you about a 32 million dollar f-16 but not a boat but is there a big diffrence between the nfb system and the regular QC system thank yall for the help

just like that 32 million dollar equipment, all things have to be correct for expected performance. even the toilet breaks on the space station.
