Tried looking for the answer and it is probably out there but can't locate it.
My tilt and trim performance has been slowly degrading and want to try and fix if it isn't to late.
Two problems.
System works while on trailer (slow) but will only raise the engine while cruising. I have to to slow to idle for it to be able to lower the engine. Seems backwards but it is what it is.
Second I am now getting the infamous engine rise while in reverse.
Could you kindly point to what parts of the tilt/trim system would be in charge of these actions? For electric tilt/trim is there an actual mechanical latch that engages to prevents the engine from raising in reverse or is it part of the hydraulic system?
Thanks again
