another Yammie F-115

I had been feeling this intermittent vibration coming throught the floor of my Cobia 184 CC lately. Took it to a pro and he said it was the prop bushing. Okay , so I take the prop off and the guy at the shop says the spline inside the hub is worn and my shaft could be hosed as well. Any way of knowing if the shaft is ok or not ? I have vernier, I could measure the OD but to me it looks fine.

Are you using a high pressure grease on the shaft splines??????

I bought it used last fall so I would assume it is the original grease from 1998. It also doesn't appear to have ever been taken off as the cotter pin wasn't all bent up. As my rebushed prop will be done this thursday, I be sure to ask for some at the shop. Is there any way to tell the difference ? There definitly has plenty of grease on it. So if it does have the proper grease, then what ?<br /><br />thanks,<br />Keven
