anthracite granite stove cover cracked!

G'Day All,

Had a nasty find while cleaning up on Saturday. The bi-fold top that fits over my galley stove has a crack emanating from one of the hinge screws!
Haven't sent email to Doral yet but I'm guessing the postage to Aust' might be a killer, the cover is mighty heavy.
Can this material be repaired?
My other option is to make a nice end grain chopping board to fit in its place.

I will post pic's soon. Waiting for a break in the rain!
The cover is two pieces with a hinge down the middle. I think I would prefer a single piece cover that was a lot lighter.

Here it is...
Had a good look this afternoon, the only glue I can think of to repair is araldite which will leave a fairly thick line at the joint.
I am still thinking chopping block.

You might try taking the entire top to a kitchen and bathroom counter shop. They might be able to replace the cracked side or build you a new top using 2 cm granite.

Granite looks nice but heavy, I like your idea of a chopping block - Oak??
