Hi All,

Does anyone know a ballpark cost to have a single coat of copper ablative anti-fouling paint applied (25ft, fiberglass, modified vee)? I'm not looking for an exact cost. Over/under $1000? $2000? Or more??

I'm thinking one coat of copper ablative paint. The boat is usually trailered, but will be in a slip for 4 months during the summer. Does anyone advise something different or does this sound sufficient?

Anyone living in San Diego recommend a good boat yard that can do this? I'm thinking Driscolls right now but I'm open to others.

Thanks in advance...

You will want two coats of paint. One is not sufficient. BTW - two coats will probably last 2 seasons.

Marinas charge by the foot of the boat. I would think that boat will take 2 gallons of paint or so. Paint cost is about $200. Maybe $20/foot for the marina to do it. You should specify color and ablative paint.
