Anti fowling paint.

Hi to you all.
Dose any one know how to make a cheap anti fowling paint.
I heard of a fisherman using just tar on his wooden trawler.
Would that work?
Any idea?

I know an oldtimer (RIP) who used any suitable paint he could find... and mixed large amounts of crushed red peppers into the paint. He swore by it.

I don't know the effects on the enviroment, though.

yea, tar should work on a wooden boat.

or liquid copper.
but that would be illegal.
