How important is it to circulate anti-freeze through your system for the Winter??

I have a 1987 17 Ft Searay and i flushed the engine and then opened the water drain plug on the engine block (only found one of these is that it?), ALOT of water came outta that. Will that be alright for winter then? or do i have to add anti freeze??

If so Where do you add the anti freeze into the system and how???

the manifold i couldnt find? there was a bolt but it wasnt like the plug that was on the side of the engine block. It looked like i have to back the entire bolt out to drain it. It was Copper or Copper color just like the plug. Is this the manifold drain??

The powersteering cooler? i never heard of that one??? where and how??

Ayuh,.... It's Not,... Not at all...

I winterize with the Dry method,...
If you drain ALL of the water from the boat,... It just won't/ can't have Freeze Damage,...

No matter how cold it gets,... Air just doesn't Freeze....

On your boat,...
Pull the Block drain, which is down low on the portside, under the manifold, at the oil pan rail.....
Poke a screw or something into the hole to be Sure all the water gets out...

Then there is the Manifold drain,... It's just aft,+ above the Block drain....Pointing down..
Do the poking there too,...

You should also remove the end of the Big Hose on the motor's circulating waterpump,...
And,...
If by chance you have P/Steering,... It has a Cooler that needs draining,..
Do so by removing either Big Hose from it...

Then,... Either lower the outdrive, or better yet, Remove it...

That means it's empty. Depending on where it's located in the system it could drain itself.
