Where is it? What is it? What does it look like? How do you test to know if you have a bad one? Where can you get one?

Re: Anti - Siphon Valve

Mine is on the fuel tank between pickup hose and tank. Under the floor??? Are you sure it is bad??
I had a week fuel pump that would only empty the tank to 1/2 mark. I was thinking anti siphon or pick tube with a pin hole in the side. Changed both of them then found out it was the pump. How foolish i felt after all that work. Also make sure a mud dobber hasn't clogged up your vent this will also keep the pump from picking up fuel after running for a short spell. Maybe with more information someone can give you your pump specfication so you can check suction side. hope this helps

Re: Anti - Siphon Valve

I've read several references about anti-siphon valves in threads regarding intermittent fuel problems throughout this forum, but a search does not turn up anything under the term "anti-siphon valve".

So I figured it would improve the board to have information about this little gremlin for folks who wanted to search/know more about it (like me). I think this is exactly the type of unusual problem that could really frustrate the heck out of someone. It would be nice to have a succinct answer for guys to search on forever more. Perhaps someone could post a way to check / eliminate it from a diagnostic point of view too, or add a picture of one, or perhaps post a link on where to get one.

BP212

Boiling Point 212,

Yes, I have seen many posts where that part was mentioned. You make a good point, we will consider your suggestion as we continue to build our FAQ's section.

Thank you.

anti siphon device aka fuel restriction device

the valve the kind i've seen most is located on the gas tank disguised as an normal 3/8inch hose barb fitting.
these little guys have a spring and ball assembly
that can trap trash and block fuel flow.

For a TEMPORARY test you can use an outboard fuel tank to bypass your boats tank
if problems go away the problem is valve, tank, lines or related to the fuel in boats :) tank. :)
