Hi,

Has anyone tried a product like:

Aurora VS721 Bottom Coat
Antifouling Paint Alternative - No More Toxic Bottom Paint - VS721 High Performance Marine Coating

I am buying an unused Carolina Skiff J14 and will be keeping in salt water in midcoast Maine this summer. The boat will be used 2-3 times a week. I am trying to work through the most cost-effective way to take care of the boat. Having the bottom painted by someone is expensive, and I am a little intimidated by doing a sealer coat of epoxy then painting the new bottom myself. Antifouling wax was mentioned as a simpler alternative.

Thanks,
Mike

I dont know much about this subject but I would guess any sort of wax is a very short term thing on a boat.

Google it . . .

. . . you will see a mixed bag of responses to threads on THT, etc. It sounds like that anyone in salt water had to pull their boat and go with bottom paint.
