Antifreeze under stairs

Hi,

Was looking at a Larson cabrio. Housed beneath the stair going down into the cabin are several hoses and pumps. There is also a bunch of antifreeze sitting in there. I assume the pumps and hoses are related to the bathroom/shower system/drains. Someone at the marina got the boat ready for summer and put it in the water. Is it something they forgot to drain, improperly setup or indicative of a leak? Not 100% sure what I'm looking at.

You are looking at the shower sump box. Its job is to pump drainage from the bathroom faucets/shower up to the waste tank. Along side of it looks like an air conditioning intake/strainer/pump.

The pink AF is put there during winterization to prevent any water that might collect there over the winter from a hard freeze and damaging stuff. Usually it will (should) drain into the engine bilge and get pumped out (eventually)

However, if you are like me you forget to fasten the top of the A/C water strainer and that forward bilge starts to fill with water, thus purging the antifreeze.

Of course, then you realize you forgot to secure the strainer lid and take corrective action quickly before too that sinking feeling sets in.

Common winterization procedure as said. You can flush it out if the water has a path to the bilge for pumping out with the bilge pump. I recommend doing that as it can get funky if left in there.
