i just pulled the drive off my boat (86 larson 3.0 140 hp, alpha 1) and found what was either water or antifreeze in the drive bellows. from my understanding this can cause alot of damage if it hasnt already. it wasnt alot of water, but it still concerns me. the drive bellows itself is fine. it was new 2 years ago and there is no cracking or anything on it. whats my first step to trouble shooting or resolving this issue? thanks.

Re: antifreeze / water in drive bellows

If the drive bellows was "fine", then there really would be no water in there unless if leaked in from one of the ends.

Usually it is recommended to replace the bellows as there can be small cracks that you can not see.

The u-joints and gimbal bearing are affected by water intrusion so if you can determine the condition of those or post up some pictures of those for folks to take a look.
