Hi
here are some pix of a giant bow light:eek:, looks real old, not sure where or what it is off. HELP me figure this one out THANKS in advance! :) where did this light come from? or off of?

I doubt it is correct for my G3 Glasspar boat (1961) also there are 2 vents on the bow area hood, I have yet to see any other G3 boats with these. Are they incorrect??? wrong etc?
see pics

that is an original light, they were red and blue. not off a cop car.

looks like the fuel fill in on the deck also, with the fuel tank, in the bow, those vents are required with the tank there.

That is a typical, albeit over the top, bow light from the '50s/'60s era. Many boats didn't come rigged with electricals in those days and it was up to the dealer to install lights, cleats, etc. as part of the rigging process. Many times the owner would install the items themselves. Bottom line is there is likely no "original" light for your G3. If the big ugly light bothers you, see is you can find a basic period Attwood or Perko light.

Thanks TashasDaddy and everyone else, I appreciate the input!

So looks like we're keeping the vents (neccessary) and the light (correct light, plus the wife likes it! she's the Chief!) Im not too keen on it, kinda like the idea of a period correct attwood or something less "bulky" guess we're keeping it though. uhg, I was almost hoping it was wrong lol
maybye Ill put in a flasher unit make it a "cop boat" heh heh just kidding

Not my style, but it is age appropriate for the boat, so I'd leave it. If you do ever replace it I'd suggest not throwing it out, I'll bet it would be a popular item (Ebay) as it is so unusual & rare now.
