Hahaha.8)

My first thought was. . ."Well, I am an antique and I collect...". . . then it became clear.

Strange how the mind can work before coffee. I may have some stuff that has become antique just because I have had it so long. Would a 30 year old rod/reel count?

Seems like a fascinating hobby. :)

We got some stuff in a display case at the shop. One guy said that he saw a Creek Chub go for $3500 on ebay. He said it was just like the one in our case...didn't check it out so I dunno.

Mom got a book on fishing tackle, rods and reels antiques and collectables. Going through it, I found a lot of our items in the case and some we don't have in the case are "very collectable".

I'll take some pics next time at the shop, Mike, and post them. You got some interesting stuff?

I have a few lures as decorations in my basement recroom. None are in good shape anymore. They belonged to my grandparents. I wish I had all of them. A few would probably bring good money. But being the youngest, I only got the leftovers.

My mother threw out my father's Teddy Bear some years back. A few months later she saw where one in slightly better condition sold for $14,000. It was an original Teddy.

I have a couple Supra Zebco 22s. And 5-6 old wooden lures.....Im gonna take a pic later to show you guys :) Im torn between selling them or keeping for my future Grand children ( see my post on awesome news ) :D

I have several old rods and reels and about 30 or more old lures. I never went out and purchased any, but they were my grandfathers and his fathers, so some are probably very old - my grandfather would be 95 years old if he was still alive ...

One day, when I have time, I want to clean them up and make a display box for them, but till then, they will stay in their boxes for safe keeping and checked often to make sure they don't rust, mildew, and get nasty.

I too have a bunch of my grandfathers lures from the '40s and '50s. I have a pocket catalog from Heddons dated 1946 and one from Helin lures dated 1941. I also have a 1939 Elto 1.1 hp outboard. One of these days I'm gonna try to get it running. Also have a 22 cal single shot that was my great grandfathers. I hope to pass that down a couple more generations. Some old creels, bamboo flyrods, all kinds of "junk".
