Hey guys -<br /><br />I'm about to pick up a Proline 27 with twin 1997 Mercury 200 EFIs. <br /><br />Took the boat for a test run and they both idled/shifted/started fine. Had a 15 minute ride through some canals at ~1200 rpm - one was a little jittery on the way out, the other a little jittery on the way back.<br /><br />Out in the open they ran great, boat hit 50 at about 5000 rpm. Back to idle no problems, shifted etc everything was fine.<br /><br />I am going to schedule an afternoon to go over the motors. What should I expect for compression? Does the EFI system have any sort of diagnostics built in?<br /><br />I was surprised to see that none of the gauges offered any sorts of warning indicators etc. I realize 97 is still pretty old tech though... These are still 2.5 liter engines, right?
