I am thinking of building a hydroplane for next year.

Are there any good videos or dvds or books that can help me get a greater understanding about hydroplanes and how to build one?

It will be a 12 footer. :)

or perhaps a great book or video on plywood boat making that will show stuff similar to how a 12ft or longer hydroplane is built.

Google free hydroplane plans and homebuilt boats, you'll find many.

That said I think this is good site for the common free ones.

And if you want hours of video of the actual process I've become fond of Red Barn Boats on Youtube. I was along for the entire ride on his EMC build and found it very informing.

Thanks but, I am kind of looking for a theory on the structurals of a hydroplane. Like how many inner "frames" , (I don't know what they are called) are needed to build the structure for a 12 foot boat, what is the safe max horse power for outboard power and so on.

The dynamics on how it works. What to do to build it safe an what not to do.

I can't find anything like this on the internet. :( You tube has nothing.

I like Red Barn Boats too and watched all the videos but the construction of his boats is different from a hydroplane.
