Any hints on properly stopping internal thread corrosion?

DSC_5385.jpgHow do you stop the corrosion that happens with threaded fasteners going into the Mercury Mariner block? Look at the photo to see what I mean. I have some of the waterproof lower unit grease if that helps or hurts? Suggestions? Ideas?

Galvanic reaction is what that is, switch to stainless steel bolt.

Ayuh,.... Coat the threads with Merc. Perfect Seal....

Maybe not a Cure, but it Helps...

I think I will rob some of the stainless from my older Merc Thunderbolt 1500 and grease it as well.
