Any idea what shaft size a Mako 17 needs?

I have a Mako 17 and I'm replacing the old 90 with a 115 25inch shaft.. I don't have the boat here so I can't measure...Does anybody know if a 25inch will work?

Have no idea what year your boat is but the Mako website says the new 17 have a 20" transom. The 115 will move it but that is alot of leg sticking out. Performance and steering will suffer. I would bet that the 115 will perform worse than the 90.
