We have a few mating pairs in the general aera. They do seem quite pale faced now that you mention it. I will contact an illeagle consultant for consultation on the matter, and report back.

Well I certainly hope there is no increase in tax dollars to rehabilitate, medicate, and house any of these needy creatures.

Illeagles, like most other birds of prey are opportunistic hunters.this means that they will go after sick or wounded or dead prey(as long as it is fresh).
About 20 years ago we had a mouse infestation in our fields and we spread a lot of mouse poison.
Within five days we had a large population of hawks, falcons, short toed eagles and lapped faced vultures in our area. A week later we started finding sick and dead ones. The poison just build up in their tissue and killed them.

We have a good many, but the number fluctuates. Seems they have a preponderance for flying up the interstate the wrong way. The sad part is the number of native species that get killed, too.

Havent heard anything from the DNR lately. So all must be fine.

I cant wait until Ice out when the Baldys are in groups of 5 or 6 hunting the mississippi. There are days I can see 40-50 of them.

My neighborhood, the lower Columbia River, has a healthy and growing eagle population, but they are mostly eating fish and other birds here, not rodents.

Ospreys are doing really well here too.

Eagles look healthy here, also. I see them along the river when I'm at work.

AAWWWW ob, ya spoiled my fun. I was gonna post that as far as I knew all the birds around my area were healthy. As you know an ill eagle is a sick bird. Now an unlawful alien resident is a different story.
