Hello

Picked up another motor today. An Evinrude 33 horse SKI_TWIN can anyone help me with the following questions please?

-does this motor have a good reputation?

-what year is it?

-does it have a generator?

-is it known for speed, torque or lack of power?

-it’s all white under the hood but the top cylinder is a bit discolored (yellow/brown) does this mean anything?

-were they common with parts still easy to get?

Any info would be appreciated. Thank you very much!

Re: any info on rudy 33 please

1) Yes. It is the reincarnation of the '57 (and some '58) 35hp engines with the stronger rods, crankshaft & bearings found in the '61- engines. However, it was an 'economy' outboard and does not have a thermostat or the "deluxe" sound deadening that went into the 40hp.

2) We need the model number. Look up above between the two transom clamps, on the tilt/swivel bracket. Generally '65-'71

3) That was optional. If it's there it's on the port side of the engine and connected to the flywheel via a toothed belt.

4) That may indicate it's really a Johnson, and it overheated once. Since it's new to you, service the water pump.

5) Yes, they all fit into the "Big Twin" classification - 25(50s),28,30,33,35,40hp engines '51-70something. Very popular and parts abound, cheap.

Thank you Paul for all that info.
the mod. no. is 33752C ser. G516478
It also has a pull cord and electric starter. the ignition is seperate from the throtle and first goes to a box (screwed to the transom) then the motor.

That sounds about right. That's a 1967 model you have there. I'm (very slowly) rebuilding a '65 now, so if you have any questions, just ask.
