Recently while working on my old Chrysler, I decided to build myself a static timing tool. Basically it is my own version of Chrysler part # T8938 which is impossible to find today. It made finding top dead center and the degree of advance a snap. I just wondered if any of you fellow shade tree motor tweakers would have any interest in one of these.

Nice job. I assume, if you don't have a degree wheel, there are measurements for the length of the rod?

Nice quality professional job. Advertise over at the Chryser Crew. I'm sure there will be some takers. Curious----How much would you ask?

Just remember: the 125 and 140 have different larger measurements scribed on the rod since the stroke is 2.875.

Re: Any interest in a static timing tool???

Thanks for the compliments. I hadn't given much thought to a price. I really just made it for myself, but then I got to thinking about how long I looked for an Evinrude timing tool some years back and came up empty handed. I have enough scrap stock on hand to whip up a few more of them so I thought maybe a few others would want one.

My manual says that two versions were made; one for flywheel magneto ignition, and one for all other ignition types. It also says that one rod is for 28* while the other is for 30*, 32* & 34*. I only have engines with magneto ignition, so that's the only one I can make at this time since I don't know the measurements on the other rod.

I would really realy like to have one! Let me know what it takes to get one. I have a 1986 force 125 with distributorless ignition. I don't know if that works or not but I'm willing to try anything.
