Any opinions on rhoads lifers in the 3.0/140hp engine?

I was thinking of using these in my 3.0 140hp rebuild. I like the idea that they could reduce the cam size which could give me more hours on the water trolling while getting max power out on top.

Has anyone else looked into them and or used them?

lol, cool, thanks, I will check it out.

Just so any flamers know, ahead of time, I did do a search for "rhoads" but found nothing, well, in the mercruiser section anyways.

i just looked up rhoads, if all you're swapping out/in is lifters I don't understand how that will change anything. I see they advertise their lifters as variable and they throw words out like fast bleed and anti-pump up and claim how they make your cam smaller or larger with some logical statements. But most of what they say has been around for a while, to me it sounds like a big marketing ploy to buy their lifters. I'm not saying their junk, I have no experience with them but I would do as much research as possible. Be very skeptical of info you find on the web, good or bad. If anything it's a reliable part but I wouldn't get your hopes up of seeing any noticable tq/hp out of your engine. If they're not expensive then they're certainly worth trying. I would be interested in your results, I have a 2002 19' with the 3L.

you mention your doing a rebuild, if your going with a new cam as well then that's a different story.
