Last lap of the Indy 500 the leader wrecks, and then a last lap wreck and Dale jr. loses the lead on the last lap of the Coke 600.

P.S. Feel free to whine/brag about your favorite or most hated driver!

Been quite a day of racing...I was really hoping Dale would make it, and of course I am thrilled for Dan...

I'm not even a committed Jr. fan, but still would have loved to see him win after such a dry spell.

I have never really gotten into Indy Car or Formula one, NASCAR However I watch religiously, yes beginning to end, gas brake turn left all of it. Todays race was great but I got hosed on my fantasy league, Kasey Kahne running out of gas on the green white checker took my last two drivers out of the top ten and so I got jacked, home town favorite Regan Smith took home 8th great day for Furniture Row Racing here in Denver!

The Indy 500 ending had to be a heartbreaker for the rookie, Hillibrand I believe was his name.

(I don't follow the indy car series.)

I watch NASCAR faithfully.

Kyle spinning out was an added bonus to my evening. I'd like to know what Jr. said when he realized he was out of fuel.

Re: Any race fans out there?

Ok besides Kyle spinning out repeatedly I think my favorite part was the start of the green white checker, My daughter was hounding me to get dairy queen and I told her Just hold on theres gonna be a huge wreck right here because either Jr. or Kasey Kahne is going to run out of gas on the restart. Next thing said was "OMG DAD HOW DID YOU KNOW?" LOL then the realization that my drivers got held up in the carnage just sucked. Thats ok though I'm in first in my league by a long shot!!

Also when Kyle went through the infield I was yelling HERE GOES THE FRONT END!!! DANG!! freaking guy is too lucky! I mean Carl Edwards won the race and then ripped his front end off!

Kyle sure does seem to have the "Lawn Mower" movement down, I can't believe he got away with that one!

I really think if Jr. had not of jack rabbited that re-start he would have won...he jumped like his butt was on fire when that flags flew at the end...

A great day for race fans of all types. The Monaco GP, Indy 500 and Coca Cola 600 all on the same day and not even overlapping time.

That is sort of like games 7 of the World Series and Stanley Cup on the same day as the Super Bowl.

Don't forget the great war movie marathons that are on too JB. I'm not normally proud of days where I do nothing but sit on the couch and get no productive work done but I have to say yesterday was a great day!!

That is today for me, LippCJ. Today I watch all of Band of Brothers and all of The Pacific (unless I fall asleep before the end).

I was bummed when that rookie hit the wall at Indy. He was a little too amped on the last lap. Can't blame him for being a little excited.

Any race that Shrubby is mowin' lawn or going down the track backwards is a good race.

Not a Jr fan, but, was a little disappointed when he ran out of gas. Made for an unexpected finish. Kevin is a teammate to my boy Burton who was caught up in the last wreck, so it was all good. Burton is having a tough year.

Don't know what Jr said, but we all know what Knaus said when Jimmie blew up!

I watch the race using trackpass and listen to Junior the whole time. They knew where they stood and were in good spirits. In fact, I think Junior was having to pick up Letarte a little after the race as I think Letarte was more bummed. Not to say Junior wasn't super disappointed. As much as I want to see Junior win, I am more happy with their consistency. They have never had that before and it's nice to see. Junior is much more positive now with the team.

When you listen to the scanner the entire race you start to really understand the decision they make. When you don't have that you yell at the TV and tell them they are idiots for pitting or for not pitting. A lot more strategy goes into the entire race.

Hard to be that close and come up empty, Nobody knows that like an Earnhardt does. As odd as it appears I think that Jr. and Letarte are a very good match.

I agree kind of mixed feelings seeing Jr. take the lead and hear the crowd cheer knowing they are cheering for his name more then the driver...

Has anyone noticed the empty seats at the racetracks? Seems more and more each race

Re: Any race fans out there?

We have 2 tickets that I won to the Kansas Cup race the 5th. The seats cost $105.00 EACH!! We got preferred parking, and pit passes. THe cost is enough to stop people right now with the economy in the toilet. PLUS, it's nothing unusual to see a green, white, checkered finish. And THAT seems to always come at the "right moment".

NASCAR is all about the $$.$$ IMO, they don't care about the fans anymore !!!!!

Want proof......... look at the penalties they give out !!!!!! :0
