Any reason NOT to install a T in my water line coming from the outdrive to thermostat

1988, cobra, 3.0. I want to have a sure way of flushing the engine and protect the impeller. I did try the muffs but I really didn't like them. Maybe I have more a philosophical issue than a real issue, I don't know. But I was wondering if I hooked up one of those prestone T flush kit into my fresh water line, and attached a hose, would I need the muffs? Would I be just making a mess?

Thought I would start my own thread on the subject rather than continue on rogerboat's thread.

Thanks

PS: I want to install a clear hose so I can watch the water flow through the engine, Which hose do I replace? Is the clear stuff from home depot good, or do I need something special?

You will still need the muffs as you may burn up your impeller if you don't. You can do it this way on a stringer drive but not on a Cobra. Muffs are very easy on a cobra. Not sure why you would want to do this at all.
