Anybody ever fished with one of these?

I've never tried those but we installed 2 lights in our canal about a month ago and the fish they draw are amazing. 20" - 30" specs & redfish cruise around every night attacking swarms of bait fish. It's been a blast to watch, sort of an outdoor aquarium. The only problem is that LF says all hell will break loose if anyone catches one of them. She thinks they're pets.

I hate to tell you this, but we love to fish those lights in the canals. Will be in your next of the woods in a couple of weeks.<br /><br />Cool at night, no wind, no waves, and great fish.<br /><br />We once saw a HUGE alligator gar in one.<br /><br />We came across a good looking set one time, but every cast we got snagged. I figured they put some crab traps over the lights to keep people from fishing them.<br /><br />Ken

Sat. night at about 1:30 the dog started barking like mad. LF went out on the deck to see what was going on. There were 2 kids about 12 or so in kayaks fishing. She didn't stay to see if they caught anything. <br /><br />You going to be around Jamaica Beach?

Yes, we rented a canal house for this weekend in Jamaica Beach. Off of Spanish Main road.<br /><br />How has the bay fishing been?<br /><br />Ken

We went out for a little while yesterday but fishing was real slow. I caught a black drum and that was it. Neighbor down the canal caught 4 trout & 1 flounder Fri. night on Carancua Reef. Another neighbor caught 10 trout in the surf Sat. morning.<br />Stop by and say hi if you get the chance. We're on the 3rd canal north of the boat ramp. Look for big red dog (probably barking at your boat) and the "Emma Too".
