i recently bought a 19' bay boat, and the title says its a "Cimmarron" but ive done some research and i can find this boat anywhere. I used the vin number and it said that my manufacturers code matched with T.D Penny boats from GA. my question is, has anyone heard of these boats? are they reliable? It's a 1988, thats really all i know.

I don't know about 1988, but I believe current Cimmaron's are made by Larson. They are sold at Cabela's... I would start there to try and track down your boat manufacturer....

Reliability has more to do with the powertrain than the hull manufacturer. Plus, a lot can happen to a boat in 23 years.

I've seen a number of them. Looked to be basic low-end boats like Sunbirds.

I have a 1988 Cimmarron 21' walk around cuddy. My dad bought it new in 1988 with a mariner 150 outboard on it. I do belive that Cimmarron only made this model for a couple of years they mostly made bass, fish n ski, boats like that. I have had this boat 30 miles offshore, got cought in some 6 to 8 seas and this little boat just kept on going. We have fished from lake erie to key west in this boat. I do think that they are a cheaper boat ( by cost ) and they dont have all the bells and whistles but this has been one hell of a boat and I am proud to still own one. Just one guys opinion.
