i really need some help with the hook up of a tach in a 1973 chysler 70 hp. if anybody has one from around this time, please let me know where the tach sender wire is connected on your outboard. thanks!

My dad had one years ago, it's long gone now but I still have the manual.

The manual shows two different wiring diagrams for a 70HP, both diagrams show the tach signal wire as 'white'. On both diagrams, the white wire comes out of the CD unit and runs all the way up to the ignition switch.

Good luck.

Aldo

yeah, the manual does show this, but every tach i have looked at mention that it will not work with a magnapower type 1 ignition. anyways, i have installed a new CDI ignition (no tach lead) so I cant use the white wire anyways! any ideas?

just spoke to a guy at tiny tach. they have one that was made for a mercury that they 'think' may work. he wasnt sure, but thought it would work with some adjustments... i am ordering it today, but it will take a couple weeks to receive.
