Anybody know anything about Wise boat seats?

I'm restoring a pontoon boat. I need to replace two seats and two end caps. I have found the exact seats I need, but just as I was about to click the Buy button, I noticed that one of the seats was described as "grey red charcoal" and the other was "light grey red charcoal". I have emailed and called the manufacturer, Wise, but have gotten no response. I asked the customer service here at iBoats, but they weren't sure, and directed me back to Wise. The only seats on the Wise website are described as "grey red charcoal", so I'm thinking the "light grey" could be a typo?
Can anyone give me some advice here?

Only advise I can give you is get a garranty that the cushion for the seat is made with top quality marine vinyl. I bought two Wise seats, they both molded with in one year/season. I have kept 303 protectant on them and they still molded. The mold stains will not come out. Found out they were made with the vinyl that has the fiber hair on the back, this is a no no.

I have taken the covers off the other seats, and they have fabric on the back. My problem is that I can't tell if the colors available are really "light grey" and "grey". Wise only lists "grey", but sites selling their seats list both light and grey. My seats have been in he sun for a while, so it's important that the replacements match as well as possible.

These are Wise seats that I bought for my project. They are the "553 Grey Red Charcoal". Hope this helps.

Just in case anyone is interested, the mystery has been solved. It turns out there's only one grey as far as Wise is concerned - just plain ol' grey. So the web sites that list "light grey" don't know the products they are selling.

Wise boat seats are the worst junk ever. I bought a complete set years and years ago of their premium stuff. Seams were ripping within a year. I called and asked for them to sell me the precut and sewn vinyl so i could just re-staple down on the plastic bases. They refused to do so. These were the same current seats they still offered for sale. Wanted me to purchase another set just a bit over a year from me buying these. NEVER would I buy that crap again. Go to a good local upholsterer.

Re: Anybody know anything about Wise boat seats?

A suggestion to you. My boat (Jon) sits outside. I fold the seats down an snap them to prevent as much sun damage as possible. The back of my boat seats use velcro at the bottom (seam) to hold the vinyl cover on. When the seat is folded in the down position the overlapped part of the seam catches water BAD. Thus when you unsnap the seat and raise it the foam is super soaked with all the water that it absorbed. Each time you move, get up and set again you re-squeeze more water out of the foam. The constant soaking of the foam has to shorten the life of the seat. I don't know if I've explained it very well but I do know I will pay attention next time I buy seats.

I also purchased wise boat seats when I re-did my Chapparral. I kept it covered all the time but still got extreme amounts of mold on the vinyl. The original seats that I left in the boat showed no signs of mold! Granted they were not the "premium" grade seats. I was not satisfied with my purchase.

+1 on the local guy

I've read plenty of good & bad on Wise seats. For what it's worth, I plan to "always" cover mine when it rains. I can't say how they're going to hold up as I just installed them. Whatever happens, at least I got a real good buy on them. If they hold up, great, if not, I'm not out an arm and a leg. Keeping my fingers crossed!
