Found a cheap tri-hull runabout, but cannot find any info about the manufacturer.....Fish-N-Ski of Tarpon Springs, FL.

The hull is supposed to be a 1969 model, 15.5' in length. Some pics of the hull's plate:
(If they're too large, please let me know and I'll gladly resize them.)

Re: Anyone ever heard of this boat brand/mfgr?

Welcome to iboats!!

Well..... I am unable to find any trace of that on the USCG Manufacturer's Data Base ...... but in 1969 it was not required to have Hull Identification Number's.

There are hundreds of companies that entered the market and died rapidly. You may not ever find out.... :(

A 41 year old boat..... I would inspect everything .....by your photo's it has already been re-painted...... I would question ALL the wood in the boat.....stringer's, transom not to mention the flotation and decking.

Transom's solid as a rock and straight as a razor's edge. Has a 55hp Evinrude Triumph (Model # 55873R) hanging on it....and no sagging, weird shapes to the transom. Tapped it with rubber hammer and it made no sounds like rotted wood would.

The floor is solid, too....no soft spots. I jumped, walked, essentially stressed the floor front to back and all I got was sore from hitting a solid floor.

The upholstery bits of the interior aren't in the best shape, but other than that, the electrics work, the motor fires up and runs and shifts, the boat floats.

Guy wants $500 for the boat, motor, and trailer. Trailer is straight, no rust, lights work, etc. (I've crawled over, under, into every place I can get to on the hull, trailer and have found nothing horribly wrong.) I'm really tempted on this.....

For $500, I'd go for it, and drive the heck out of it this season.

Definitely post some pics of the boat and motor if you can. If for nothing else but opinions and discussion. ;)

OK. Just got home a little bit ago. Took the boat out with the owner. It planed pretty quickly, ran darned well for its age and didn't take on any water.

Granted, it's all original, except for the paint, which apparently was done more than 20 years ago by the original owner.

Current owner is second owner and has had it in his family for 19 years. The boat looks, according to him, exactly as they got it, well, aside from time and wear.

The upholstery/seats are tired, seams starting to come unsewn. Luckily, I've got an old 15' fishing boat I "inherited" from my sister a few years ago that has very little good about it, other than a good pair of seats and a nice running 1975 50hp Evinrude, so the forward/rear facing lounge seats will donate their bases to mount the "new" seats.

The leading edge of the keel/bow has the obligatory scrapes which was "fixed" by the now-previous owner with some sort of putty-type stuff....he had more an idea than skill with the application of the stuff and subsequent painting. Thankfully, it's not very thick at all, so some sanding and proper touchup should take care of that pretty easily.

The fiberglass floor of the boat is very solid, as I mentioned previously. Using a rubber mallet and "tapping" here, there, everywhere on the floor produced no soft spots or anything else untoward I can detect.

The pushbutton shifting made me smile....I owned a 1964 Plymouth Savoy decades ago and it also had a pushbutton automatic. LOL! Wonder what ever made those manufacturers go that route back then.....

So, a few pics just after we got home this evening. Yes, it's old, a little tired, but in surprisingly good shape and for the money, will be a hoot to play with this summer. It's big enough to finally take a couple of our dogs with us without feeling cramped.

(Please don't be too harsh....)

Looks nice to me for $500. Look at the TLC thread to see what more than $500 will buy you. ;)

All I see here is some good times for not much cash.
