I need to remove the carpet and replace the decking on a 19 foot Starcraft Holiday.

I do not want carpeting back. Anyone ever use Starboard anti-skid or Seaboard Grip-X ?

Would I have to add extra supports under it other than what originally held the plywood?

How would freezing affect it? The boat would be stored outside in Northeast Ohio near the shore of Lake Erie.

THANKS

I have not. I am sure others have because it has been talked about alot... More expensive though. I would not think that you would have to add more supports, but wait for a reply from some that have done it...

Thanks for the reply.

Any ideas on how to narrow a search? I tried searching the restoration and repair section before posting the question.

I did a quick search on seaboard and this is copied from the thread; "Its the wrong material for decking, thats why nobody uses it that way. It's also slippery when wet and very weak in comparision to ply...unless you double/tripple it up or use plenty of extra framing". They also said a sheet weighs 125 lbs compared to 75 for plywood.

I guess the title is not clear.

Starboard AS (stands for Anti-Skid) and Seaboard Grip-X are different products than Seaboard and Starboard. They are designed for decking.

I was going to use 1/2" and was wondering if any one has used this product.

Weight is not an issue. Soggy plywood and carpet weigh more than new plywood.

The carpet will not be replaced. This will save some of the weight difference between Marine Plywood and these products.

I can not change the original post Title so I bold faced part of the original question.

If you edit the first post it will change the post title.
