anyone got info about engine swap

hey i'm about to swap engines merc 350 to chevy 350 (I know; cam, brass,all marine elec and components) I just need to know any tricks ect. I've swapped 20 car/truck engines my buddies helping he's a auto/heavy duty mechanic. We don't know about boats Can some one give me some help?
allignment, any look out fors ect. ect. It's may 30 and it's 33deg celsius and I need my boat in the water asap my moter blew and it's not worth fixing

I just did the same thing except on a Volvo Penta.
Things to look out for are:
If your motor has a windage tray the newly rebuilt one may not have the studs which will require you to re-torque the mains. (using your old windage tray/main bolts)
Make sure the block/heads are the same year as your meri. If you have a 1 piece rear main, make sure you get another. Don't go cheaper by getting a 2 piece. It was recently brought to my attention that you will have flywheel/coupler/intake issues if you exchange from one to the other.
If you can afford some vortec heads, which will require you to buy a new intake manifold, do it. Better design, better combustion, better performance.
