I've had no luck finding a late model used pontoon, so I found myself in a Bass Pro store looking at new stock.
Besides the cost of the boat, we must add a $1000 or so for dealer prep and destination, another $1800 for a trailer, and $700 for a cover.
I haven't gotten down to the bottom line yet, but I didn't get the impression that they take kindly to negotiation.
Just wondering if I should expect any freebies or discount on this purchase??

Anyone gotten a real deal from Bass Pro?

At Home Depot one can occasionally negotiate better deals on big ticket items (ie cabinets at the end of the month). I'm sure Bass Pro would be similar if the timing is right. Can't hurt to try. If they say no, leave you name/number with the sales rep. Don't be surprised if you get a call later that day or the next day.

for what you are buying treat them like any other dealership. in this ecomomy if they don't respond in kind go to another boat dealer and reward them with your buisness.

Check the reputation of their service department.

Your going to be bound to them for the warrenty period. What you save up front might come back to haunt you on the back side.

Bass Pro carry the Sun Tracker line, which supposedly has a no haggle price from the factory for all their dealers. You can go on line with Sun Tracker and get your exact price including delivery charge by entering your zip code. See how this matches up to what they are telling you. You will likely find your best deal privately with a nearly new one or a dealer who has some of last years stock still on his lot.
