Hello,

I've got a '89 Baja Force 216 with the Mercruiser 350Magnum/Alpha1.

I've only used the boat with me and one other person in it up until this last week. With two of us, 30gals, about 100lbs of 'stuff', trim tabs down, the boat will usually plane out in about 5-8 seconds. In good conditions it will WOT @ 55-58mph.

This last week we added 4 people at about 525lbs total and the boat was a dog. It took everyone standing up as far forward as possible and maybe 20-30sec to get on plane. If people stayed sitting it probably would have never planed out.

It now has a prop labeled:

HD Quicksilver 48 (two triangle symbols next, like 4's with no leg) 19c

Any suggestions on a second prop to increase power when more people will be in the boat?

Thanks.

With out a max rpm reading can't make an accurate prop selection.
Also need the recommended max rpm.(usually a label on the motor.
Can't tell you the details on the prop except it is 19"pitch and if painted its aluminum. You could go down to a 17.This will handle a load better. It will also add "about" 400 rpm.Try to stick with same brand and material. Are you sure the motor is in good shape and well tuned, throttle opening all the way?
