anyone have a wiring diagram for a 91 3.0 liter

Was using this boat on and off the last 3 weeks.with a new battery.The voltage gauge always shows it's charging.Well tonight out on the lake after drifting for a few hours Like i've down many times in the last few weeks the starter went click click so i'm thinking the gauge is wacked and the alternator isn't charging properly.The main battery wire off the alt goes to the big battery stud on the alt.There is also a red and black wire coming off the alt that aren't hooked up.

The OEM service manual has the wiring diagrams. Lucky for you, you have one of the few engines with the OEM manual online.

thanks.I downloaded the link u provided but when i click on the charging system it tells me unable to find document.i think all it's downloading is just the cover sheet and index.

You can't "Download" the link, you have to open the link, click on charging, allow it to load, then save to your computer if you have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 or above.

okay i'll have to try on a windows pc then i run linux and i think it handle pdf's differently

okay after studing that manual.My alt doesn't look like either of them the mando or prestolite But this is what i found out so far.My alt has 2 quick connects in the harness off the alt.A red wire and a black wire from a connector on the alt.I have 2 wires out of the harness near the alt one is red hot all the time the second wire is purple and only hot when the key is in the run position.Currently red is attached to red and black is attached to purple.The alt only starts to charge at above 3000 rpm's.If the engine is running at idle and i disconnect the battery the alt stalls.I also used a volt meter to test at the battery.At an idle with all lights and acc on the battery voltage drops to almost 10 volts.When i got this boat both those wire at the alt were disconnected.If i have the black to purple wire connected the alt starts to make a whining noise but doesn't charge at idle.I'm thinking it's time for a new alt.My engine serial number is 0D521786
