Anyone have their tow rig painted to match their boat?

So, my old truck is desperately in need of a paint job, and I am toying with the idea of painting it to match my boat since mostly it's sole purpose in life is now going to be for hauling the boat. Has anyone here done this? I can't decide if it seems a bit dorky or not.

I know someone who had their vehicle painted to match their boat, boat had a typical wild 80's color scheme. Looked really good when towing the boat, not so much when the boat wasn't in tow. We nick-named it the "circus wagon",,, which was fitting for the color scheme...

Never really crossed my mind and I don't think it ever will to be honest.
How about some matching T shirts for the passengers and crew !!!!
Seriously though if it needs painting then why not. Good luck with it.

a co-worker had his truck and boat both painted the same. the closest I have come is my last truck was red, so is the current boat.

I did once paint my boat to match my truck. I also stayed at a holiday inn last night.

My current truck doesn't match my boat which I admit is a bit annoying. Next time I'll get a white boat or a white truck. Not sure I'd paint the truck to actually match, but then again I'm considering shark teeth on the boat, so who knows.

My van happens to be white ... my boat happens to be white. Worked out nicely, but I don't think I'd work to match 'em up.

Paint your tow vehicle to match your boat and the next thing you know you'll be looking for shoes and a purse that match your tow rig and boat!

... after that comes the clown shirt with sponsor patches that don't even sponsor you.

Bought a cover to match my truck (Burgundy). Looked nice for a while, sun ruined it. Thinking of painting the truck, dust. Always liked the buckskin and brown combination.

My wife said she will make sure I have a fantabulous purse. Thanks for the tip!

My Chieftain is yellow with a black top

and just by chance, the '29 Ford my dad built is pretty close!

The hotrod was painted about 10 years before I got the Chief, so it is just a coincidence. :)
The frame was made originally for a custom pickup, so it raises up nicely to attach a hitch.
But I don't think I'd trust the 40 year old drum brakes on that Buick axle.

My truck matches my boat pretty well. But I don't think I would paint it to match a boat.

Well not on purpose but our tow rig is blue and the boat gel is a similar blue so people think we did that on purpose. In reality my wife rolled the original tow vehicle destroying it which was red and the replacement truck happened to be blue with a sparkely paint job.

I am thinking about maybe just copying the red color but omitting the stripes.

I think it's a great idea, especially since that's the main purpose for the truck. When I was growing up my family and extended family spent a lot of time camping together. I had an Uncle (RIP) who's business was building truck toppers, campers and eventually motor homes. He always made sure that his tow rig matched his trailer and then when get got a motorhome, he restored a VW bug to match that since that's what he towed behind it.

I still remember how much attention to detail that man had and his paint choices reflected that. Go with a nice, classy paint job and absolutely match that boat. The people that will notice it will appreciate the extra effort and you know that you will. But, don't forget....pics or did NOT happen.

Back in the 60s, you could get a white Camaro with fat orange racing stripes on the hood and trunk deck. You could also buy a Glastron GT with orange racing stripes the same color, size and spacing as the Camaro. No need to paint either one. I sometimes wonder if Glastron purposly picked the color scheme.
