Anyone is or been through getting a Coast Guard Captain license? The OUPV/6 pack
I was just recently approved to take the written exams in 360 days: 4 modules - rule of roads, navigation, charting and deck. I am going to self-study using FREE online materials instead of taking training classes.
Had to buy CPR/first aid training classes, paid for drug tests, medical exams and filled out some government forms.
I need to buy (1) parallel rulers (2) dividers unsure anything else.
Just down loaded a 200+ pages Rule of Roads from Home Land Security and Coast guard website. Man, what a beast! need to pass that component with 90%. Dang, NOT going to be easy - LOL
Hope to take the exams before end of 2017.

I have held a six pak for going on 10 years now. as I remember it the class was a two day affair and then we all went and got finger printed at the coast guard and twic cards. did out pee tests cpr and 1st aid was part of the class. It is nice to be credentialed.
