Anyone know about New Bern, NC?

The better half is looking at a healthcare job in New Bern.<br /><br />Looks picturesque, but have not found any real information on life in that area.<br /><br />Any input appreciated.<br /><br />Marty

Went to New Bern on business a few years back and liked it so much, have been back several times with the wife. Very good area to live in and friendly people. Lots of water of all kinds for your boat, too. I could be mistaken, but I think the movie "The Great Santini" was filmed there.

New Bern is also where Pepsi was invented. I've been there several times, nice town, neat historic areas, great sailing on the Pamlico Sound, but I suggest buying a house outside the central city area, you'll know why when you look around. :)
