I cant seem to find someone on here that knows enough about my electronics issue.
Here is the scenerio
Its a 2002 Volvo Penta 5.0 GL
I was cruising at 3000 rpm running well.
Suddenly the boat stopped. Sputtered just prior, acted like it was out of gas.
I was able to get it started but only got about 20 ft then it died. Same thing acted like it was out of gas.
I had just filled the tank 5 hours earlier
My gas gague does not work, so I opened the access panel and removed the float valve to verify that there was gas. There was
I checked the emergency cutoff on the throttle and it is attached and secure.
Couldnt get it started again
Called TowBoats - thank gawd for tow insurance. If you dont have it you need it.
Into dock I started to check things.
I can take the fuel line that leads to the fuel pump off of the pump and suck gasoline up into the line without restriction. This makes me think the anti-siphon is good.
I took the line off that leads into the carb and no gas was getting to it.
I checked the 50 amp reset. its ok, both the 25 amp fuse and the 40 amp fuse in the same block are ok and not blown. I changed them just to make sure.
I replaced the relay on the fuel pump. It still did not spin when the key started or when cranking. I see no gas getting to the carb in the line.
I can take off the wire harness from the fuel pump and run a pos and neg from the battery and the fuel pump will spin.
All this then I am thinking it has to be in the electronics.
I dont know of any other fuses that protect the fuel pump.
I want to work back from the fuel pump to the battery but I cannot find a good wire schematic.
Its a 2002 Wellcraft Excalibur 210
Im lost and dont know where else to go
Anyone here have experience with this?
Thanks
