Our mercruiser has an ignition safety switch that I assume you can hook to your body/clothes so if something "bad" happens it will kill the engine. It's just a little string with a U-shaped plastic thingie on the end that pulls out of a little plunger/buttom deal. I think the goofy thing is getting rusty or corroded because everytime I touch it with my knee, the engine dies and will not restart until I fiddle around with the thing. I think the smart thing to do would be to replace it....rather than just do away with it. Anyone know where I can find a replacement?? I have looked a little bit but have not come up with anything.
