Re: Anyone know where you can get fairly inexpensive plastic decking for resto projec
Hi Guys:
Like the previous responses, plastic outdoor decking is not suitable for boat decking however, it's great for replacing teak or old wood trim. I've used the solid color "Trex" brand trim panels from my local big box hardware store and it works really well. A friend of mine used it to replace the extremely expensive commercially available rubrails and it looks and performs much better than the original. If I need new rubrails on a future project I'll fabricate them from "Trex" brand decking material.

If you want composites check my Donzi Resto project, plascore with glass added on both sides gets expensive, but it will last until I die, depends on your priorities I guess.
