I rely on the many security patches provided by my operating system manufacturer and have full confidence in their efforts.:)

No, nothing really new except for newer versions than what I use. I'm a firm believer that what I send via e-mail should only be able to be read by the recipient. It also keeps things private on my own computer. :)

Used to to send data between my business and business partners that wasn't overly sensitive however it was to ensure protect for interception. Now rely on TLS between mail gateways to handle that.

But, I also limit email to stuff that if it was exposed, is not a big deal.

I think it's a good idea too. The only trouble I have with it is that unless it's someone you regularly correspond with (who is savvy), it's hard to get everything setup (plugin, keys, etc...). Of course, security is never convenient.
