Lookin for a permanent solution to exhaust bellows. Saw these on ebay:

Merc came out with a "Tube" instead of bellows which apparently works great on larger V6 and V8's, and gives a little bit more sound which is nice to hear to the ears.

Can't get em for volvo tho

These ones are 3". Does anyone know the diameter of the stock bellow where it attaches to the transom plate on an SP transom?

Those are for through transom exhaust that is right at the water line. NOT for Volvo outdrives.

Why don't you just use the proper bellows instead of looking for all these wierd ways of getting around them. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=534041

They are not hard to change like the Merc ones if that's what's worrying you.

Just throwing a new idea out there... Lookin to let the engine breath abit better and get some more sound out of my small block without the obnoxiousness of a through-hull setup or the price of the captain's call...

I have the tube. WHen its time to replace my U-joint bellows, I'm going back to the thru prop exhaust bellows. Tired of listening to it when running. Hard to have a conversation.

A little more sound? You say that as if a good thing.

Im pretty sure it's 3", at least my 280 is 3 inches. Just swapped my y pipe out yesterday, old one was corroded at the bellows at the riser side.

Replacing the bellow and keeping it OEM is real close to a permanent solution. I do not believe they need to be replaced at any specific interval. Mine looked real old when I pulled it yesterday and it was still doing a fine job, its had 3 drive bellows replaced in the same time frame its been in use.
