Anyone using a Depth Finder?

I have to travel thru a river / canal to get to the lake I usually go through. I was thinking of adding:

http://www.overtons.com/modperl/pro...sducer&str=depth sounders&merchID=1008&r=view

I have a 12 ft AEPX RIB. The transceiver glues to the inside of the hull (no holes needed !!). It just scares me a bit that it works with "most hulls". It is a dual hull; I say this becasue I have a stock OEM installed bilge pump. I assume "large boats" are this was also (dual hull); so I should be OK ????

That's me "logically" thinking. Anyone have any real hands on experience?

Thanks for your help -

Geez - I thought only oil tankers had dual hulls...
My 28' Century's hull is appx 3/4" thick below the waterline. My transducer is mounted inside the hull and reads +/- 4". Pretty accurate.

I installed the Hummingbird 610 puck next to the bilge pump in my Glastron GT-185. If you have access to the inside of the outer hull bilge area, you should be fine. Just ensure you follow the included epoxy directions and let it cure for 24 hours before taking your boat out on the water. the 610 is a great basic and accurate depth finder for under $100. The best part is you don't need to drill any holes in your hull. ;)
