Anyone using synthetic gear oil?

I am interested in hearing if anyone has tried or been using a synthetic oil in their lower unit? Brand?

I am an avid user of the stuff and know that it is superior to mineral based oils. Let's say It's been almost 20 years now.

I know what the factory manual says to use, I just wanted to hear from those rebellious guys who chose to not listen to the service manual and try something else in their unit to see if they went faster or their gears lasted longer etc.

I have a 1985 150 crossflow. I am tweaking every last thing to make it run the best and that includes lubrication. I did it on my hot rods, I might as well do it on this........LOL

I use all synthetics on my motor......from grease to oils....have used in my trucks also for the last 8 years....and never a problem.....

For the last 5 years, I have not used any oil with the gearcases or the fuel that was not synthetic.
