OK lets start at the beginning. What do you have?
An OB? IB? Stern drive? V-Drive? Jet? PWC? And are you overheating or your motor?

Also, did you change just the impeller or the complete kit? What brand?

Help us help you.

Hi Craigharris,
you don't say what motor you're running. It has been known that after an overheating horn has activated they will signal problems sometimes forever after even when there's no apparent reason. I have heard this can be due to some horn actuators being wax filled and after cooling the 'touch' wire inside is left almost touching the side portion of the housing without enough set wax to take even a bit of heat.
Just a thought but you might want to check this.
Have you a thermal probe or can you borrow one? Put you're motor earmuffs on and run the motor to idle in your driveway and monitor the temperature. If the alarm activates before any high temperature occurs then it would be this little demon!
Ross
