Im adding a some speakers and cd player wed day night. And wanted to see if there was anything special I should do when Adding them? Below is the speakers and cd player I orderd. My old one never worked so thats why im replacing it and adding 2 speaker. I Know I should have this hooked up to a switch to turn of when boats in drive way or when not on the lake.
What else shoud I know?????
I have to cut my front speakers like a inch bigger and the back ones need to make a 4 inch cut under the seat to bolt them in.

Also How long do you think I can run the stero before it kills the battery? I have a brand new battery now was thinking about adding another one.
Or just keeping a battery jumper pack I have laying around on the boat just in case .

the HU link is bad...but you should seal any of the holes that you cut to prevent moisture buildup and rot in the long run. I heat shrink all my connections to help against the vibration and stuff. Mine doesnt have a seperate switch, but i disconnect the battery as soon as it comes out of the water anyways. I just picked up a spare battery, for now I'll be charging it before we leave and keeping it on board as a back up. Good choice goin with the 6x9s, thats what im upgrading to. supposed to make a big difference.

I would definatly solder all connections and seal them with shrink tubing. Try to avoid wire nuts and the like. A soldered connection will last alot longer if done right and the shrink wrap will protect it from moisture.

definitely solder and heat shrink--you should be able to piggy-back a local ground to keep from running all the way to battery

It got moved because you are asking about installing electronics and that is what the electronics, etc. Forum is for.

Obviously YOU don't read it. You ought to try it sometime.
