yep caught me right in the throat tooOriginally posted by NYMINUTE:
The prices went up.... Big Surprise.
They all look great.
I looked at the website you logged. Their boats look good. But how do you repair polyethylene when you damage it?

I thought that a comment on their site could be misleading. They state: Furthermore, polyethylene is not affected by electrolysis.

Although this might be true regarding the hull material, it is not true regarding any of the underwater metal that attaches to the hull - like the outboard, prop, swim ladder, trin tabs, etc. We've had polyethylene boats for a few years now.
Well you can get one for $20,085
http://www.tahoesportboats.com/boat/index.cfm?fuseaction=boat.motors&nav=18&boat=1701

I just bought the 5.0 MPI version of that boat. It's nicely made, and has a lot of nice features - stainless rubrail and grab handles, flip-up driver cushion, cd player, built in cooler etc. Though it is not as fancy as a Crowline or similar, it's definitely a step up from a Bayliner. Great value, and great family boatOriginally posted by garycinn:
I saw a lot of shiney but stripped down boats with underpowered engines, cheap trailers waiting for people to buy, get frustrated, and leave the sport we call boating.

The $20K 20 foot V8 new boat doesn't exist anymore

It was very depressing.

I don't understand why Merc can't put a lousy remote oil filter setup on a carbed boat. You have to buy MPI to get a lousy remote oil filter setup. What a crock.

Also, saw lots of the new TKS Merc carbs on boats trying to keep the price down. I don't know if this is good or bad. Good in the sense that people will have easy starting carbed boats. Bad in the sense that it delays widespread use of EFI in boats.
