Looking for some advise on props. I have a 18' bass boat with a 150xr6. I was interested in getting a Tempest prop for testing and found out they don't make it in the small barrel version that in need for the xr6. The guy at the prop store was trying to sell me a Apollo 21p. Does anyone know how the tempest and apollo compare? Or if there is a prop that will fit the xr6 that compares to the tempest performance?

Thanks

Re: Apollo?

I tried a 14 3/4 X21 on my Glastron bowrider, didnt care for it that much, seem to vent way to easy in turns, and if I trimmed up past the sweet spot at all it would loose it's bite, my stock aluminum prop I can trim up so far that I make a massive rooster tail and still not loose much speed.

Re: Apollo?

I tested the Apollo series for MWC.
The above post sounds as if you got one of the first production props that slipped through the cracks. The newer design was corrected and shows some very good numbers for the price, however, the Apollo is no match for a Tempest. There is a few that come to mind that I would take over the Tempest...my #1 choice would be a Turbo1, but that has to be based on hard numbers from a known prop with no wear..My 2nd choice would be a Stiletto in the advantage series.
Another item we need to know is what bassboat????
All of these designs have different lifting abilities and will perform much different on each design. Do we have a jackplate in use?
